  • Counts a given number of objects to at least 20
  • Rote counts to at least 100
  • Classifies and sequences by size, shape and colour
  • Matches objects
  • Estimates
  • Draws shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond, star)

Fine-Motor Skills

  • Increases fine motor skills through manipulative and art activities
  • Explores with different media
  • Holds a writing instrument correctly
  • Tries to use scissors independently

Gross Motor Skills

Develops gross motor skills and coordination through movement and use of:

  • Balancing on each foot for longer duration
  • Hops on one foot in succession
  • Climbs steps and ladders
  • Throws and catches a small ball
  • Follows instructions and manages outdoor games with peers

Science Concepts

  • Identifying fine body parts (ankle, wrist, elbow)
  • Categorizing animals, transport, community helpers
  • Differentiating the function of the five senses
  • Discriminating by touch, smell, feel and sound

Life Skills

  • Participates in transitions and routines independently
  • Takes responsibility for personal items
